Goldie Hawn Honored

Gina Wilhelm Actress - Goldie Hawn Honored

Goldie Hawn hasn't been in a movie since 2002. That doesn't mean she hasn't been keeping busy, though.

The actress created the Hawn Foundation, which helps kids learn how to manage stress and deal with their emotions.

Hawn says she wants to give kids the tools to deal with stress, fear, anger, uncertainty, stress, and sorrow.

She says that kids who have these tools can do better in school and are less likely to be suicidal.

The foundation was developed with help from neuroscientists, educators and researchers. About 12,000 students are taking part in schools across the country.

She wants to fix the schools, but she says "we have to fix our kids."

She recently was in Washington, D.C., to get an award for her work from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
