Gina Wilhelm Actress

Gina Wilhelm Actress

Hi, my name is Gina Wilhelm. I started acting when I was 5 years old, and I work on stage, musical theatre, film, and television.

I do voice overs and radio.

(I had my own radio show when I was 12 years old, and it was detailed in the National Geographic World magazine).

I am new to blogging, but you can find me on Facebook, and my voice page is here, and my acting page is here. Here is my resume.

I love acting because it makes me feel like I'm going somewhere and my life has meaning. I enjoy the energy that comes from being in front of an audience. I love the opportunity to portray characters very different from myself, because it is exciting. It's fun!

I am glad you found me. I hope you will hire me or come see one of my shows. Thank you very much!

This week marks the opening of "Hanako and the Cherry Tree (The Pitfalls of Mr. Yama)." This beautiful puppet show includes four different styles of puppetry.

This puppet play tells the stories of a miser who discovers a magical cherry tree on his property. When a young girl comes on his property, they form an unlikely friendship, and misfortunes ensue when he swallows a cherry pit.

This Japanese tall tale includes an oni and tengu (mythical goblins) and a giant serpent! It also explores the theme of tradition versus modern values.

I play Hanako, the little girl. This is particularly fun, as the last time I did this show five years ago, I played a completely different role.

All voices are performed live by me and fellow puppeteers Andre Nelson, Amy Escobar, and Zane Exactly. We use  a variety of puppet styles including Japanese Bunraku-style, rod puppets, shadow puppets, and black light puppets to tell this story in the Rakugo traditions.

The script was adapted by Jean Enticknap. Jean also directed this lively production.

This show is recommended for ages 3 and up.

This play has laughs, scares, and magic galore! Don't miss our fun, beautiful show!
