NBC aired "Mockingbird Lane" Friday night.

The program, produced by "Pushing Daisies" creator Bryan Fuller, was intended to be a reboot and update to "The Munsters."

This version was far grittier than the original, meant to appeal to audiences who watch "Once Upon A Time," "True Blood," and "Grimm."  In fact, "Mockingbird Lane" gave a modest ratings bump to the latter show. 

"Mockingbird Lane" featured Jerry O'Connell as Herman, still constructed from other body parts, but with a less square head.  The role was originated by Fred Gwynne.

Portia de Rossi played Lily, and Eddie Izzard was Grandpa.

The program was originally intended as a pilot for a new TV series.  That series was never picked up, though there is speculation that if the ratings had been high enough, NBC would have ordered more episodes.

The 61st annual Emmys were held this Sunday. There were several repeat winners as well as many first-time winners.

One first-time winner was Kristin Chenoweth, who got the award for supporting actress in a comedy for the now-cancelled "Pushing Daisies."

Chenoweth said, "They remembered a show that got canceled that I've never been more proud to be on. I'd much rather be on that than something that lasts a long time that I don't care about."

Other winning actresses included Toni Collette for best actress in a comedy, Glenn Close for best actress in a drama, and Jessica Lange for her work on "Grey Gardens."

Kristin Chenoweth is Just a Little Bit Wicked

Kristin Chenoweth is Just a Little Bit Wicked

Kristin Chenoweth, until recently of "Pushing Daisies" and about to star in "Legally Mad," is on a tour for her new book "A Little Bit Wicked."

The Broken Arrow, OK, native is currently touring in Oklahoma. Along with signing copies of the book, she also is having brief question-and-answer sessions.

On Sunday in Tulsa, she answered questions about breaking onto Broadway.

Chenoweth won a Tony for her portrayal of Sally in "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown." She also starred as Galinda in "Wicked."

She provides a voice on the new Fox animated series "Sit Down, Shut Up."

She is getting ready to make her debut with the Metropolitan Opera next year.

Kristin Chenoweth, star of stage and screen, may be losing her TV show, but she's not slowing down.

The 40-year-old actress has appeared on "Pushing Daisies" the last two seasons. ABC hasn't renewed the program. Instead, she will be appearing in a new David E. Kelley show, "Legally Mad."

Additionally, she can be seen now playing a spiteful ex-cheerleader sister to Reese Witherspoon in "Four Christmases."

She was able to translate that seasonal movie into a new album of Christmas songs, "A Lovely Way To Spend Christmas."

On top of that, she's currently providing a voice in the straight-to-DVD Disney film "Tinkerbell" and sang in this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.

She's working nearly constantly, doing ongoing concert performances. She's also well known for originating the role of Glinda in "Wicked" and won a Tony for her portrayal of Sally in "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown."
