Gina Wilhelm Actress - Rashida Jones Acting Defiant
Rashida Jones very nearly didn't become an actress.
The star of "I Love You, Man" and NBC's new "Parks and Recreation" had originally planned to study law as an act of defiance against her show-business parents, Quincy Jones and Peggy Lipton.
However, she took a few acting classes while at Harvard and wound up falling in love. She decided she should give acting a real try.
She has appeared in dramatic roles, but lately most ofher work has been comic.
In "I Love You, Man," "Parks and Recreation," and her recurring role last season on "The Office," she got to do a lot of improvisational comedy.
