Kristen Stewart is well known now as the star of "Twilight," playing Bella Swan in the movie based on the popular book series.

However, she's been acting for years, and she has TV and film in her blood. Her father has been a stage manager, producer, and director for many FOX television shows.

The 19-year-old got discovered in a school Christmas play at age nine when an agent in the audience was impressed by her performance.

She got her first part at age nine, appearing in the Disney Channel film "Thirteenth Year."

Her first film came two years later, in "The Safety of Objects." In 2002 she had her breakthrough with "Panic Room."

She would later appear in "Catch that Kid," "The Messengers," and "The Cake Eaters." She was also in Sean Penn's "Into the Wild."

Stewart says she likes the uniqueness of the characters in the Twilight books.
