Gina Wilhelm Actress - Imogen Stubbs Thinks About Vacation
Imogen Stubbs, the British actress who starred in "Twelfth Night," "Nanou," and "Stories of Lost Souls," told The Daily Mail about her favorite places to take vacations.
Her favorite place to travel was Chile because there wasn't any malaria or poisonous snakes. Oh, also she liked the food and the people.
She said she would recommend going to Patagonia and riding into the Andes. She suggests swimming in hot springs, seeing flamingoes, or hiking to volcanic lakes.
She says she feels most at home in Alaska. She calls it an "insane state full of eccentrics, extreme animals, and dangerous weather."
She suggests a lodge called "Ultima Thule," which means "remote beyond reckoning." She says it more than lives up to its name.
Her earliest travel memory is a trip to Yugoslavia with her parents as a small girl. The parents had gotten halfway down a motorway before realizing they had left her behind.
They got back to the campsite and found her still asleep in her sleeping bag.
Her ideal travel companion is fellow actress Serena Gordon, who she says is "funny, delightful, and brave."
She won't travel without extra batteries, a headlight, and a pashmina scarf.
She's currently on tour with the show "Alphabetical Order," so right now that dictates where she travels.
Her next "trip" with that show will be to Bath, Malvern, and Oxford. And then maybe Argentina after that.
She likes to travel because it allows her to rethink her outlook on life.
