Brazilian model Giselli Monteiro becane an Indian sensation after landing the lead in "Love Aaj Kal." Director Imtiaz Ali was looking for a Punjabi girl, but said Monteiro was exactly right.

"No one knew that she was Brazilian until the film was released. We kept that as a surprise package," Ali said.

Claudia Ciesla, a German model, actress, and singer came to India for a modelling job, and became a contestant on "Bigg Boss," the local version of "Big Brother."

Ciesla and Monteiro are now learning Hindi so they can get more roles in India.

Actress Shilpa Shetty got married over the weekend to her businessman boyfriend Raj Kundra in Khandala, a resort near Mumbai.

The Bollywood star wore a red sari, emeralds, and diamonds, while the groom arrived at the lavish ceremony in a horse-drawn carriage.

Shetty didn't share her wedding plans with the press ahead of time beyond stating that this was her "dream wedding."

"We plan to shuttle between Mumbai and London after marriage. I shall strive to be as successful at home as I am outside. I want to excel as a homemaker," she said.

The movie, "Veer," could potentially be the next "Slumdog Millionaire." In it, she plays an English princess caught in the middle of a love triangle.

The other parts of the triangle are the film's stars. The male lead, Salman Khan, is Bollywood's answer to Brad Pitt.

The movie is being called the Indian version of "Gladiator."

Lazarus often has to fly to India at a moment's notice. Plans are frequently changed rapidly.

They'll be filming her final scenes in Bangkok, as filming with captive animals isn't allowed in India. She also has had to do some shooting in Jodhpur and Jaipur.

Jaipur was a huge culture shock for Lazarus. They didn't even have any cars there, and monkeys would come over when they were eating.

One of her gowns weighed 15 kg, and she wound up having to wear it for 10 days of filming. Of a single scene.

Lazarus has already gained quite a bit of fame from her role in the film. She's been in the Middle Eastern version of OK! Magazine.

She also has to have bodyguards. Whenever she goes out, she says, people want to touch her.

She says being a beauty queen helped her achieve the poise needed to play an English princess.
